Best Junk File Cleaner: [Solution] chkupd keeps showing up

chkupd keeps showing up

I keep getting a message telling me file name /chkupd is waiting to be opened but windows does not know what to use to open the file.
I checked other sites and saw that this was showing up for people who had trusted software installed.
I had free file
opener installed from trusted software and uninstalled the program but still get the message.
I don't know what other program that I may have would be causing this message.
If I do a file search for this file windows tells me nothing is found.
Something is
causing this and it is annoying.
Nothing on my computer seems to be effected by this.
I did see that there was a virus with that name but it was chkupd.exe.
The file name that comes up on my message has
NO file extension listed.
Any ideas? Thanks

Method 2:
Run System File Checker (SFC) scan to fix any corrupt system files.

Method 3:
You may also run a Microsoft safety scanner to make sure computer is free from virus infection:

Disclaimer:
If you run the virus scan the program that is infected with virus will get deleted.
So you have to reinstall the program.
Also if the files and folders are affected with virus then they might even get deleted

Don't Download Malware

Where are you getting the download?

There are malicious people who download valid copies of a popular download, modify the file with malicious software, and then upload the file with the same name. Make sure you are downloading from the developer's web page or a reputable company.

Don't install download manager

Many sites suggest or require you to install an installer or a download manager before allowing you to download a program you may be interested in downloading. These tools almost always cause your computer more problems and may even have malware or other spyware. Avoid any site claiming anything must be installed first before you can continue with your download.

Avoid advertisements on download pages

To help make money and pay for the bandwidth costs of supplying free the software, the final download page may have ads. Watch out for anything that looks like advertisements on the download page. Many advertisers try to trick viewers into clicking an ad with phrases like "Download Now", "Start Download", or "Continue" and that ad may open a separate download.

Cancel or deny any automatic download

Some sites may automatically try start a download or give the appearance that something needs to be installed or updated before the site or video can be seen. Never accept or install anything from any site unless you know what is downloading.
